"Enlighten Up"

Which begs the question...

How has yoga changed your life?

I guess for me I might say, "how hasn't it changed my life?"
But to answer your question...
it answered my question, "who am I?"

My husband says I am visibly different when I return from yoga class, and he is right. I look forward to each yoga class :-). Thank you, Val.

I'm adding another comment. This is going to sound ridiculous, but I'm serious. I can touch my toes for the FIRST time, and I'm so excited :-) Thank you again, Val!

How hasn't it changed my life indeed, Caroline!

Yet for me it has been a sloooow journey.

At first, yoga brought me a transient sense of peace and relaxation (that is, it lasted about as long as the class lasted).

Then it brought me strength and flexibility.

It was awhile before the meditation aspects began to take root.

Over time, life began to introduce itself to my yoga, and my yoga introduced itself to my life. A transformative experience began to take shape.

Today, what is biggest for me is the strong residence I now take up inside my body - experiencing and getting to know the energies of me. I am growing in awareness from the inside out, and from the inside IN DEEPER.

Yoga means to yoke - to join - sometimes we say to join heaven and earth. I am getting more deeply acqainted with the earth part. More root. Less perch.

I no longer look to my yoga practice for peace and relaxation. I look to stay in sync with the energy that is - inside and out. Usually - in my life - with three kids and chaos in all corners - that's HIGH ENERGY! No point resisting it.

There's peace in that.

Chrys, you never sound ridiculous! But you sure do make me laugh. Every class!

It's been a journey. And I am so grateful that we have shared this road. So grateful that our stars lined up. Our class became its own constellation!

No matter where our paths roam, the light we have casted together will forever shine.

And so on so many many levels, I say to you now...

NAMASTE.

And I am very happy that you can touch your toes.
